Professor R. Misra Birth Centenary Lectures

To mark the Birth Centenary of late Professor Ramdeo Misra, (b. 26 August 1908) – fondly known as the ‘Father of Indian Ecology’, that coincides with the 30th Anniversary of the National Institute of Ecology founded by him, the NIE has instituted an annual Prof. R. Misra Birth Centenary Lecture. This has been possible by a generous donation by his family members and contributions by students, colleagues and friends, to the Professor R. Misra Birth Centenary Fund.

The Lecture is awarded each year to an eminent ecologist who has made significant contributions in any field ecology and its application to environmental problems. The Award carried a Citation and a token cash amount. The Awardee is required to submit the Lecture for printing and distribution at the time of the Lecture.
