Membership Fees

NOTE: The Membership Fees were revised with effect from 30 March 2009.

Members in all categories, except the Student Members, pay an Admission Fee at the time of joining the Institute, and an Annual Subscription, which is fixed periodically. The current rates of Admission Fee and Annual Subscription are:

Student Membership is available only to the bonafide Research Scholars registered for the Ph.D. degree.


The amount for Life Membership is now fixed according to the current age of the Members. Only Annual Members can get their membership converted to Life Membership upon payment of the following dues. The amount can, however, be paid in two or three installments but within the same calendar year. The amount does not entitle the members to privileges retrospectively for the years for which the annual dues have not been paid.

EFFECTIVE 2014 the Life membership fee has been reduced by approx. 50%  (as listed below) in view of the fact that the members are provided only On-line access to the Journal and printed copies are not sent to the members of the NIE

Note: Age only in completed years on 1 January in the year of application for life membership will be considered.

All payments must be made in favour of the NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF ECOLOGY by Demand Draft only payable on a bank in Delhi/New Delhi. The Drafts should be sent by post to Prof. K.S. Rao, Secretary General, NIE, c/o Dept of Botany, University of Delhi, Delhi 110007.
