Policy on Ethics in Publication
The International Journal of Ecology and Environmental Sciences follows a well-defined Policy on Ethics in Publication. Following are the basic elements:
- Authorship: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution or interpretation of the reported study. Each author’s contribution must be clearly spelled out at the end of Acknowledgement section. The order of authorship should be discussed among the authors before online submission. No change in the order or names (deletion, addition or replacement) of authors is not permitted under any circumstances after first submission. All authors’ signature is mandatory on the declaration.
- Originality and Plagiarism: The authors are responsible for the originality of their contribution, and any material (text or figures or tables) used from the published or unpublished work of others, must be appropriately cited or quoted, and required permissions from the copyright owner must be obtained and declared. Any case of plagiarism will be reported to the authors’ institutions and funding agencies.
- Data Availability: The editors reserve the right to ask the authors to provide the raw data used in the paper, if necessary. It is advisable to make such data publicly and freely available.
- Multiple and Concurrent Publication: The Journal does not accept manuscripts which are essentially a duplicate publication of the material published elsewhere except that the abstracts in conference proceedings and academic theses are not considered as prior or duplicate publication. The authors must declare at the time of submission that the manuscript has not been simultaneously submitted to another journal, is not under consideration in another publication, and shall not been submitted elsewhere without notice for withdrawal from this journal.
- Acknowledgement: Institutions where the work was carried out or where the facilities were used, and all sources of financial assistance must be acknowledged.
- Conflicts of Interest: All submissions should include at the end of the Acknowledgement section all potential conflicts of interest.
- Hazards and Human or Animal Subjects: The authors must state in their declaration that they have complied with the national/international regulations concerning the use of chemicals, procedures or equipment with potential hazards and the study involves the use of animal or human subjects, if so applicable.
- Errata/Corrigenda and Retraction: If the authors discover genuine errors after publication, due to oversight of the authors or editors, the Journal will publish an Erratum/Corrigendum as soon as the error is reported to the journal.
If the journal discovers or receives verifiable information about the misconduct on the part of the authors (such as in respect of plagiarism, data fabrication, copyright violation, dispute among authors, etc), the Journal will issue retraction of the publication.
