Assessment of seasonal variation of water quality of Agartala City, Tripura through PCA, PcoA approach & Water Quality Index
Abstract
Water quality deterioration has nowadays become a serious issue all over the world. Urban areas are depended on various natural environmental resources for its infrastructural need. Water is an essential commodity and therefore more vulnerable as a resource in rapidly changing and growing urban spaces. Agartala city is an important urban area in the North-eastern region of India. This study aims to analyse the physical and chemical changes of water samples collected from groundwater and surface water in the study area. The samples were collected in pre-monsoon and post-monsoon seasons during 2020-2022 for analysis of physicochemical parameters. Pearson’s Correlation, Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Principal Coordinate Analysis (PCoA) was used for the purpose of analysis. Further, the Water Quality Index has been prepared with the Weighted Arithmetic method.
